Sup. Its been a minute. Just wanted to give all my fellow Bass supporters and fans an update.

We still exist. Bass still happens. Just not with the same frequency or relevance as when we dominated the cover of Climberism or were discussed at Rock and Ice in regards to failure. But we are still doin the thing. Fat Randy trained for FOOPS and did it (legally guided of course…). PJ got a big boy job in the city and now commutes via Metro North to work (how suburban of him!). DREWZ is busy with the dad life (which consists of watching a lot of children’s TV). The Kid decided to be stoppable and finally started doing ACTUAL work rather than just floating by on his sponsors dollar (don’t worry, he still has his JOB…I). Icey has taken up fishing mostly (as of this post, he was “gone fishin’”). Pianka fixed his finger and is back to his antics at Kingston (mostly still warming up…). The brothers COHN are still doing work outs at the Inner Wall (no surprise there). Team Jersey is still crying about their loss at the Sourlands vs Team NY (despite the fact that they TRIED TO RIG THE COMP). The Western Mass delegation of Bass are… playing with broad swords and Legos. I think. (NO JOKE) But we have managed in our spare time to start a neat new project that we wanted to tell you all about.

We are currently working on putting together a new guidebook for bouldering at the Gunks. We have been putting a lot of work into this in our spare time and while there is no real expected “publish” date as of now, we are well underway and HOPEFULLY going to have something out next year. There will be more bouldering in the book than before, as more areas have become developed and legal. We have had many meaningful and lengthy discussions about the additions with the members of the Mohonk Preserve and are proceeding with things as responsibly as possible. Once more details become available, we will post more up here for sure. Its really quite exciting. We cant wait to share with you this new guide we’ve been pouring our hearts and souls into.

But we will need help for sure. We will need photos. We will need people to test the guide out. We will need history and stories. We will need your input on what works and what doesn’t. So for starters, if you’ve got rad photos, think you did a first ascent, or just feel the need to be radical and tell us how much you appreciate what we are doing, send us an email at ilovebassforyourface AT gmail DOT com. We’d love to hear your stories, see your pictures, hear about your problems, all that.

And we will make more videos. We will find more rock. We will do all the awesome Bass stuff we’ve done in the past, but you know… not as frequently. Cause we’re makin a guide book. Hold onto your pants folks. Cause it’s gonna be an awesome ride. V4+ FOR LIFE.
